Open Road Media has been aggressively promoting the revised and updated print and e-book 2017 editions of my book “Above Suspicion,” which was originally published by Simon & Schuster in 1993.
Here’s an excerpt in the latest Open Road promotion. I should note that, as in throughout the book, everything is based on my reporting in eastern Kentucky and interviews with the persons involved in 1992 and again on a revisit last summer. In this excerpt, the narrative is based on extensive interviews with Mark Putnam in prison in 199. He described to me the scene in which he killed Susan Smith, and her dialogue is as he remembered it. In the upcoming movie adaptation of the book, Mark is played by Jack Huston and Susan is played by Emilia Clarke. Kathy Putnam is played by Sophie Lowe.
