‘Above Suspicion’ Podcast

I talk about the tragic twists and turns of ‘Above Suspicion’ for an hour today on Pete Lieb’s excellent podcast “Prove Me Wrong.” Pete, who asks great questions, is especially fired up about the “what-could-have-beens” in the tale, and how tragedy might have been avoided if common sense and better situational awareness had prevailed at various points in the story. 1. I knew Kathy Putnum and spent hours and days, talking with her.. You are making her out to be a slut. But, my friend, she was the most devoted mother and wife you could ever know! She did her job as an FBI’s wife to get an informant to help her husband! I would love to help you make sure you leave her legacy with dignity! …And Ironically, My name is Susan but from CT…

    1. Ms. Czajka, I think you’ll find that my portrayal of Kathy Putnam was extremely sympathetic. I knew her very well and liked her enormously. She and Mark both fully cooperated with me as I was researching “Above Suspicion,” for the sole reason that they wanted the story to be told accurately. Kathy was extremely forthcoming and utterly honest in long conversations with me over a lengthy period of time. even regarding personal matters that were painful to her. She loved the book. She was, as you know, an amazing person, and her death was one more tragedy in this tragic story. Joe Sharkey
